This is a simple Tourist visa. While the passport may get stamped for a long duration based on its validity, this visa allows the person to enter Canada for a period of 6 months. The person must leave Canada towards the end of this 6 months or earlier.

Two types of Temporary Resident Visas

It remains valid for up to 10 years or a month prior the expiry of passport whichever is earlier. You need to arrive in Canada on the same date or before the expiry term on your visa.
